2010- The year of Annoying Trends...

Good Evening People, I do hope you are well.

I have decided to Kick of this new blog with a discussion about "popular" culture this year and how frankly- its time to give it a rest. We can all admit that what was once "cool" and "niche" now makes us want to pull out our hair and and run around screaming.

Lets kick things of with Journey- "Don't stop believing", more like "don't stop playing this song EVER", once my favourite tune, now when i hear it, it sends me running for the nearest bar for a double dose of sailor jerrys and coke to numb the pain. I mean, its playing in nightclubs- ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS???

So what made what was once a classic, now seem like a punishment? Who shall we blame? the first mentions in sitcoms such as scrubs and family guy, or go further in time to soul- raping televison such as The X factor or Glee? (arguably enjoyable- but still soul-raping). It is highly likely that the reason this song is now dead to me alongside many other music fans is due to the fact that is has gone so mainstream. I'll admit as human beings, feeling part of a "special" or "selective" group gives us an exciting or interesting dimension to our being. Its all bullshit of course...

Alongside this i Have outlined several other songs that we have thoroughly enjoyed however, its now time to lay them to rest:

Sex on Fire- Kings of Leon.
Mr Brightside- The Killers.
In Da Club- 50 Cent.
Pass out- Tiny Tempah.
ANYTHING FROM GLEE.
Low- Flo Rida feat. Tpain.
ANYTHING FROM GLEE.
(thats meant to be there twice)

Ok then chaps, my next subject: Justin Bieber...
I dont even know if I need to give an details with this one as Im sure by now we are pretty sick of ANY 13 year old that hangs with Usher, Ludacris and Sean Kingston. Ok Justin we get it you have celebrity friends- but your the only one who WANTS to be their friend. They have resorted to you. Remember that.

Lastly- if i see, hear or read something else about vampires i am going to be pissed off. I dont care anymore if you glitter or if your hot enough that you can look moody and sexy so everyone wants you... im over it. please please just go away. What happened to the occasional DECENT vampire classics such as Interview with a Vampire? or even Buffy (as lame as it was). Now we have true blood and such like where clearly if you want to eat us we must have sex with you. Ok with twilight the books are good, but oh my god the films with mediocre acting are just getting boring, to where they are getting 17 yr olds to take their clothes of to make it more interesting.

This Vampire craze is getting overused and now dull- I dont know if anyone has seen McFlys recent video but they have just joined the queue of vampire loving dull people that seem to go with any craze possible.

So to sum up 2010: Bieber, Bloodsucking and Believing. 2011 please?
